Is it important to mention if it's a BMG Music Club version (rather than purchased at a retail store?)

Thanks,

Elaine

I think you should if you know that it is a BMG or club disc. Personally, it doesn't matter to me one way or another, but I've seen in another thread where that was important to other people.

Ditto on what Fara said. Some people care, so I always try to give the info. Same with books, if I see that it is a book club edition, I mention that.

And it's a good idea to list what you have: disc/case/artwork or whatever. That's important to a lot of people.

The same with books - for example if it's missing the dust jacket, etc.

By "artwork" you mean the cover/insert thingy? I guess I assume it's all there unless it's stated that something is missing. But you know what they say about assuming. Wink

Anyway, thanks for the replies. I'm going to try to add that info to some of my listings.

Can anyone that knows why this could matter, let me know? I've often wondered why it would make a difference. I'm just truly interested in knowing what people think about this.

On some CDs it's possible for bonus tracks to be included on Club CDs. This is the case for some
"special" edition CDs offered by clubs or stores.

Due to the recent downward spiral of TT I've decided to leave for a better trading environment. I may return if TT becomes a fun place to trade and interact again. Until then
I bid you all a farewell. Frowner

if you're someone that keeps cases, they're often different. bmg typically has the jewel case with a glossy insert. the cd in the store might come with a special cardboard case, poster inside, bonus dvd/cd-rom tracks, etc.

You are right about the artwork--if it does not say, it is supposed to be complete, and you are righter about assuming.

Unfortunately, the only way to "add" info to a description is to remove the item from your inventory and relist it with the new description. No way to edit Frowner

I have also been told that BMG has a "cleaner" version of some language, for example: Kid Rock, rap music, etc., than what is sold in music stores.
