I noticed there was a category for records and would like to try and see if anyone would want the ones I no longer play. However, I've never shipped a record before and bcause of it's weird size, I can't just fit it in a regular padded envelope :P

What I'm wondering is, for anyone who has mailed a record or even those who haven't, how exactly would I package them? Are there padded envelopes big enough to put them in?

Also, are people still interested in records? I know it's probably a given that they'd have to be a certain artist but who knows, maybe someone would be interested in the ones I have *crosses fingers*

Thanks for the information. I managed to find the thread you were talking about and there were some good ideas there. Although, I also noticed that I forgot to factor in the fact that there are serious collectors and just casual listeners.. Hmm.. I'll have to take a re-look and listen to my records to make sure of their quality.

Hopefully my local pizza places will part with some boxes, if not, I'll have to go searching for the huge envelopes ^_^;

I have a lot of albums in my inventory. They are all in excellent condition, some never played. I will email a list for anyone interested. mostly from the eighties.

You're not going to find large enough envelopes for your records. It would be easy to use 4 padded envelopes to package your record(s).

All you need to do is cut the sides of the envelopes open. Then you insert the record(s) into one, then overlap the others. Once your record(s) are covered, you can wrap them with brown shipping paper.

This method works well with oversized books, so record(s) shouldn't be much different.

Due to the recent downward spiral of TT I've decided to leave for a better trading environment. I may return if TT becomes a fun place to trade and interact again. Until then
I bid you all a farewell. Frowner

Since it's Summer time I wouldn't recommend using padded envelopes.
The heat can cause the records to warp in transit.
You're much better off eith cardboard.
You can use a sturdy cardboard and, basically make your own box for them. Smiler
