When someone requests an item, we can see the title, but can not see whether it is a VHS tape, DVD or a Book etc.
I've lost one order because it was for a book, and I thought it was a video tape that I must have lost, so I cancelled (remember Torchy), and I lost money because I thought I posted Mission Impossible 2 the VHS, but I axxied (I posted about 30 VHS tapes that night, and it was late and I was tired) and accidentally chose the DVD instead of the VHS (They all look the same sometimes! and points were the same).
It was requested, and I shipped it, unaware that the requestor expected the DVD. Spent time and postage, and gave an item, and had to give back the point too!
Icckky! Yeah, ok, both of these were my fault, but I have 7 pages of inventory!!
If the request had come up as MI: 2 - DVD, I think I would have caught it.
Maybe I'm the only one having this problem! But I really hate it, so if nothing else, here is my opportunity to whine....
There have been a few times I have received requests and I didn't recognize the title and was in the same boat. It will take an extra step, but you can research how the item was listed (just not see how many points you asked) by clicking on the My Requests link, Sends tab, then click on the actual item. It will show if it was a PB, CD, DVD, etc. Hope that helps a bit as I know I've had to do that several times to make sure I sent the right item.
My own (new) system is to click on the actual item requested (because now I'm paranoid), and it will bring up the item I listed and say whether it's book or VHS.
I was hoping that if Mag-Dan got around to adding the conditions we listed for requested items, they might also consider adding this.
This just happened to me too. I sent someone the Cat in the Hat book, instead of the vhs like they wanted. It worked out for me though because she ordered more from me and I just sent the vhs with it. I plan to be more careful *sigh*
