Ok, ok, I know this has been brought up time and time again, but I'm bringing it up again.
I think it would be VERY beneficial to revamp the FAQs and listing rules on TitleTrader.
Too many times, people are not listing things such as "no artwork" or "disc only" or "no dustjacket" etc, etc.
I know other trading sites don't think this is a big deal, but I think this is one of the great things that distinguishes TitleTrader from the others.
New users need to know the trading standards on the main TT site, not just on the forums since not every trader visits the forums.
This will be beneficial to newbies and veterans alike. Newbies will know right off the bat what is required of them when posting an item, and will be less likely to get a tongue lashing and a negative feedback, when they may have never really understood what they need to list.
The veterans, and all traders for that matter, will benefit from this as we will not have to wonder whether a dvd marked "like new" with no additional information will be sent with the case and the artwork, or just the disc.
Not only do the "what's included" standards need clarified, but also the "integrity" of the product. There needs to be a grading scale of what makes a product "New" and "Unacceptable", and everything in between.
Torchy - I'm with you 100%. The FAQ's definitely need to be updated and then need to be sent to each new member when they join. That would cut alot of misunderstandings and miscommunications amongst both veterans and new members. If it's in writing on the site no one can say they didn't know about it.
Yeti - first of all, welcome! I think you have an excellent idea. However, I don't know how feasible it would be since we list books, cd's, dvd's, games, magazines, etc. You would almost have to have a different drop-down box for each type of item. I guess Dan is the only one who knows if something like this can be done since he's the super-programmer.

I think you should be able to reserve an item pending a question, if you have one. Then you can both agree to send or have it go back into circulation if you don't. That way you can jump on an item you want but arn't stuck with it your particular criteria isn't met from that particular user.

I go on the give them the I the conditions and guidelines that were on the forum in september that helped me and I've been here for a while now.If we all could do this it would save us all alot of headaches. blessings biggramma know other trading sites don't think this is a big deal, but I think this is one of the great things that distinguishes TitleTrader from the others.

I agree with that torch, but from a semi-newbie not everyone(or maybe it was just me)understands the meaning of "Artwork" . These are things that need to be explained. Maybe for newbies you could suggest the FAQ's to avoid any bad feedback and explain what some of the "terms" mean. For those of you that are rolling your eyes right now, not everyone is up on all of the TT lingo.

Good point, pudintain - and I'm not rolling my eyes. I never thought about that...but then I'm not much of a cd/dvd trader either. The listers need to be a little more specific in their descriptions to avoid problems, but if the requester doesn't know what "artwork" means, then they need to PM the sender to make sure. The PM system here isn't for chit-chat - it's for questions and answers, and it definitely goes BOTH ways.

That's a Great point Rella! Maybe that should be part of the Newbie list of "what to know". Sometimes it needs to be in black and white to tell people to ask questions. I am so guilty of that but I never give a bad FB if it is my own fault for not asking.
