Smiler I like a tidy forum... so I don't want to post in Dan's thread....but check out Dan's NEW STUFF post.

How wonderful is that? Smiler

<closes eyes and makes a new wish for> (nothing as specific as state) but something to indicate what country we are requesting from.
TheNewYorkTrader(US) or Kislany(CY) I am far more patient if I know it will be beyond a month for a book to arrive.

I just noticed the new thing with the feedback and open requests/sends- I think this will be very helpful and I'm thrilled- keep the improvements comingSmiler

I am struggling with the open sends.
Doesn´t this indicate that there is stuff which isn´t send ?

I have 11 open sends all shipped. Big Grin

Wouldn´t it be a better solution to display the number of unshipped items ? Wink
Or maybe I don´t understand the whole thing. Big Grin

No, an open send should be one that has not received feedback yet. Otherwise a fraudster can just click shipped and nobody would be the wiser.

I think this will hopefully encourage people to not wait so long to leave feedback. I know I am not the only one who is agitated by people waiting for days and days after they receive the item to leave feedback. I do it within an hour of checking the mail, I don't expect people to be this punctual but shouldn't take more than a couple of days- it only takes a sec. Atleast say "received it looks good".

Wow! I love all these improvements!

The one where you can see what feedback the person has left for others is a gem. This was on my Xmas wish list!

I'm not sure yet how to use the thing where we can see open trades. When I saw it, before I came to the forums, I thought it was Pos/Neut/Neg feedback, and some of the people I was trading with had really, really bad records Big Grin

Here's how much of a sap I am: When I saw it, I thought, "Oh great! If somebody only has one feedback but, like, 50 open trades, that means they are a busy enthusiastic new trader and I can request with confidence!" Then I see Dan's warning that this should be considered a warning that the person might be a scammer. Sigh! I see what he means. It is too bad, because there are also great traders that come in and start off with a bang. Fortunately for us, for a good trader, their account will only be in that state for a week or so before all the feedbacks start rolling in.

And here I go, announcing what a sucker I am, so all the scammers know where to go. Sigh! Maybe I'll be the canary in the coalmine. If the site starts to be populated by scammers, the first indication will be GIP, pointsless, sitting in a house devoid of books, CDs and DVDs, saying in a perky voice: "Gee, I sure hope Mr. Mailman comes today, and brings all those discs and books I ordered from those nice new traders 2 months ago! Golly, isn't it nice that they had all those great things to send, and that they requested everything from my inventory too?!"

NYT is soo smart and sophisticated (as of course we would expect from a New York Trader), to realize it is best not to busy up Dan's thread. Actually, if he can do it, it would be good if Dan could 1) block others from posting to the announcement thread, to keep it clean (could also automatically create a "discussion of new change" thread and include a link to it in the announcement) and 2) reverse the order so that his newest posts appear first, rather than last--so much easier to see what's new.

Big GrinOh go on! with you. It is just my avatar putting on those sophisticated airs.

I had the same thought about the PINNED topic being in reverse order so newest was always on top.
I'm not a fussy person, just hate to see important things get buried. Topics just naturally drift.

Hey NYT, this is a funny coincidence--I was just thinking earlier today that you should run for Queen of TT, so if you decide to throw your oh so stylish hat in the ring, you have my vote.
