I have a question regarding feedback and points.

Suppose I have an item which I requested still pending, and it has NOT been marked shipped (the cancel button is showing, so it's been over 10 days), and I leave negative feedback. Do I get my points back, or forfeit them?

Is canceling the only way to keep my points, and therefore, I am unable to leave feedback for the transaction?

If you cancel, points are returned instantly. If you choose to leave negative feedback instead of simply cancelling, you would have to file a dispute in order to have points returned. Disputes are generally resolved in 1-2 months.

Hello, this has nothing to do with the lasts person's question, but it does match the points an feedback title. Now, I've searched ALL over the FAQS page here on TT and oculdn't find an answer to my question, so I'll the forum. Why does TT automatically set the points for a product? I find it a bit odd, mainly because I tend to use Barterbee, another site similar to htis one, where you, the person selling stuff, can set the number of points. Also, does each point represent a $ value, like 1 point is equivalent to $1? I just wanna get my faqs straight. Thanks! Smiler

Titletrader uses Amazon's value to base the number of credits each item is worth.
Points can be purchased here for $5 each so I would say that is the *rough* value.

For me points cost me as much as I spend to send and item out. Sometimes ( as book trader) it is 2.23 postage/ a credit, sometimes when sending a hardcover the 2 points I get will end up costing me 1.29 each.

So basically if I send off a Hardcover that is worth 2 points, I should be able to get another to replace it, thus, a trade using points to swapping items of equal value.

If you have an unique item, say a first edition or something that amazon doesn't have, there is always the "custom listings" option where a point value from 1-20 can be set.

Welcome to Titletrader !

The value system is just there to keep things fair. As I see it this site was set up mainly to swap not sell and the $5 point bassed system is just there to be sure that with all the difrent things that are swaped here you dont end up haveing to trade a toaster oven for a papperback and then not be able to use your point to get anything back that fairly matches your trade because all the papperback traders got them for the value of that one papperback. Did that make any sense??? I have seen posts that imply that the site owner wishes the point value system to be held too in the past. i love the way this site works and that I can trade anything. Welcome agen!!
