I never received a book and I contacted the sender twice but never got an answer so I left negative feedback over 3 weeks ago like TT says and then lodged a dispute. I asked TT for my credit back but they never replied so I wrote them separately saying that I wanted my point back and they still haven't replied. Are you just out of luck on this site if you don't get a book you requested? If that's the case looks like PBS and BookMooch are a lot better. Anyone know what to do?

Honestly I dont think TT admin and such visit often. We seem to be left to our own devices. In a way its better that way. I hate SDVD admin. I havent had a problem on PBS yet. Give it a bit more time.

NOTE TO TT ADMIN: Maybe haveing a way to contact suport persons would be good???

So what are you supposed to do if someone doesn't send you a book but you've given them a point for it if you can't contact admin? Can't really be left to your own devices in this case--unless there's another way to get back the point and I'm not aware of it???

Admin support staff?

According to your profile, negative feedback was left on June 17th which was barely 2 weeks from Tuesday (not quite the over 3 weeks noted). Generally, disputes can take at least one month to process, but your point will be returned. There is usually no contact from admin other than a form email stating when points have been refunded.

Edit to add: Sorry, researched a little more and noticed this was an international order (you're in New Caledonia sender in USA). What date was the book ordered? International orders really need to be given considerably more time than the 30 day window that is normally mentioned. On anything I order from another country, I usually wait 60 days for arrival before filing a dispute as the quoted ship times for international delivery are 4-6 weeks in most cases for non-priority shipments.

The US doesn't have surface mail anymore so there's no reason that a book should take more than 5 weeks to arrive. Even books sent to me media mail have arrived within 4 weeks. I requested the book in April so we're going on just over 2 months and the sender doesn't have the decency to reply. Apparently this happened to another person according to their feedback. TT support staff could at least let you know that something is being done when you put in a claim the way they do on BM or PBS if this occurs. Certainly doesn't encourage you to continue swapping if there's no admin support for problems IMO anyway.

While there is no "surface mail", there is first class mail international which took the place of economy. When going to the USPS site, a 7 oz package (usual weight for paperbacks) would have cost $23 for priority mail or $5.90 for first class int'l, so if it was sent, most senders would opt for the lower price as a credit certainly is not worth $20+ in postage. However, under estimated delivery time it just says "varies" for first class so there is no guarantee or even estimate for arrival.

You've completed the dispute process, now you just need to wait for them to complete the credit which again is usually at least one month as has been mentioned here in previous threads from members in your same situation. Unfortunately, there may be a high number of disputes currently due to a problem with a new trader mixing up several orders or simply not fulfilling them.

I have had this same problem! I requested a book in MAY and here it is July and still no book. The sender "claims" it was sent using a non TT label so no tracking number... she said something about PayPal which makes absolutely NO sense at all (and has other feedback saying items not received). Anyway, I filed a dispute and heard nothing. I emailed TT.. still nothing. Now, I am having the problem again with another sender whom I spent 6 points and have not received my items. She has had nothing but bad feedback for the past month or so and has now removed all her inventory. If I can't get 1 point back, how am I suppose to get 6 points back?!?! It is ridiculous that there is not a better way to contact customer support. I did my part and sent people items... TT should do their part and help support when others don't! My plans are to use up my points and only deal with PaperBackSwap.com. BUT I WANT MY 7 POINTS BACK!!! How do I get them?!?!?!?!?!?!

Kyrosebud I'm starting to think that we're just out of luck and too bad Frowner I'm going to exchange my points for BM or PBS points and maybe leave 2 points on TT in case there ever is smthg I want. I steered people away from this bookswap site since this happened to me and only because there is no customer support. It's not a good bookswap site and I seem to have learned that the hard way Frowner Your situation is even worse with 6 points! I can't believe they don't do anything about it.

I think I've come to the same conclusion. I really can't depend on a site that is not supported. I pulled my inventory and used my points - now if I can only get back the $10 in my account. I realize I may have to just write that off as a lesson learned, as I don't count on ever hearing back from "support".

Makes me sad that people are leaving. This site could be so much better if it just had more support and was quicker with dealing with things. Maybe one day.

Is the owner/moderator/guru of TitleTrader named Dan?

Anyway, "Dan", if you need help with the site, you should enlist some long-time members to become admins. That way, problems could be dealt with faster and they wouldn't all fall on your shoulders. That is essentially what BookMooch and PaperbackSwap do.

By the way, I have 2 disputes still to be resolved, and it appears a third one on the way (there seems to be a spate of frauds signing up, posting sought-after books into inventory, and then disappearing, probably hoping that someone mistakenly gives them positive feedback so that they can get 4 free books).

This is sad and telling that all these people are coming out of the woodwork so to speak and admin still hasn't done anything--they must go through the forums from time to time so they can't say that they don't know and then there are all these unresolved disputes.... Obviously they don't care enough to keep people on their site. You had a good suggestion JHCClark about enlisting volunteers like they do on other swap sites. Maybe someone will listen....Fingers crossed we all get our points back Smiler
