[waves] Hello, all! Another newbie here, thanking you in advance for your patience through anything that may turn out to be a stupid question.

I've searched the site high and low, even dug through a year of posts here in the forum, but I can't find a comprehensive guide to what I can/should do if there's a problem with a trade.

After several successful sends and delighted receivers, I sent a book out that apparently didn't meet the expectations of the receiver. I'm willing to concede in this case, no big deal, but what do I do now? What options do I have to remedy the situation? I do wish the FAQs would address this.

Many thanks,
Jade

Smiler [waves back] If you are willing to concede that the receiver is just not going to be happy with the item, it is possible to return their credit to them.

Contact them first, see if returning their credit/partial credits (which ever the case may be) is satisfactory with them, that they will leave pos/neutral feedback rather than neg. (or change in an upward manner)

If so, go to their profile, you should see a GIVE GIFT tab.

Thanks for the advice, the receiver was happy to get their point back. I just wonder if giving a "gift" is the best way to go about this. Seems to me someone with less-than-honorable intentions could accumulate a whole lot of points that way, and the community wouldn't even be aware of it.

Thats why I will only refund if I believe there could have been a problem with the item or I did not list satisfactory. I try to give as much info as I can if an item is not perfect. If I am SURE the item is good they can just leave bad feedback. Also if you dont contact me with the problem there is nothing I will do. I like the gift optian we used to have to make a mock listing for the person to accept to get our points back. Its much easyer now.

So who here has admin status? Maybe we need some things stickyed to help people out. I know I saw an listing condition list and some tutorials. Wouls be some help to stick those to the top of the help forum.

So far i am thankful i haven't run into this situation.but i do try to guarantee what i send out.basically come to me first.if i can fix it.i will.but in this situation.i would ask for the item back before i would give any refund.for i do not know anyone on this site from adam and do not know their true intentions like you say.i have no problem fixing a problem with an unhappy receiver.but hey, gotta have my item back first.least that is what i would do.
hope this helps
